This 8-day Sri Lanka tour along the Ramayana Circuit immerses travelers in epic mythology, spirituality, culture, and the island’s extraordinary natural beauty. The journey includes sacred temples in Chilaw and Anuradhapura, the coastal charm of Trincomalee, the cultural treasures of Kandy, and the peaceful hill stations of Nuwara Eliya.
During this Sri Lanka tour, you will visit iconic Ramayana sites such as Kataragama, Sita Amman Temple, locations associated with Hanuman’s trail, along with mystical waterfalls, ancient caves, and lush tea plantations. The journey concludes in Colombo, exploring historic forts, sacred temples, and legends deeply connected to the epic Ramayana.
Upon arrival in Sri Lanka, begin your Sri Lanka tour with a transfer to Chilaw, approximately 1.5 hours from the airport.
Visit Munneswaram Temple, a sacred site where, according to legend, King Rama prayed to Lord Shiva to absolve himself of the Brahmahasti sin. Continue to Manavari Temple, where Lord Rama installed the first Shiva Lingam, known as Ramalingam, which is worshipped to this day.
After these spiritual visits, proceed to Anuradhapura (approx. 3 hours).

After an early breakfast, explore Anuradhapura, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the cradle of Sinhalese Buddhist civilization.
During the tour, admire ancient stupas, the sacred Sri Maha Bodhi Tree, and massive reservoirs that reflect Sri Lanka’s glorious past.
Later, transfer to Trincomalee and visit Thirukoneswaram Temple, believed to have been constructed by Sage Agastya under the guidance of Lord Shiva. The temple holds special significance in the Ramayana, as it is associated with King Ravana’s devotion.
Visit Lover’s Leap and other local attractions.
Dinner and overnight stay in Trincomalee.
The third day of your Sri Lanka tour follows a scenic route from Trincomalee to Kandy.
En route, visit the Dambulla Cave Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka.
Continue to a spice garden in Matale, where you will enjoy a traditional Sri Lankan lunch and learn about aromatic herbs and spices.
Upon arrival in Kandy, visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic, one of the most sacred Buddhist shrines in the world. End the day with a city tour, including Kandy Lake.

A full day to explore the highlights of Kandy.
Visit the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, where you can observe elephants in a natural setting. Then, stroll through the Royal Botanic Gardens of Peradeniya, renowned for their collection of exotic plant species.
In the evening, enjoy a traditional Kandyan cultural show, featuring classical dance, drumming, and fire-walking performances.

After breakfast, drive to Nuwara Eliya.
En route, visit the Sri Bhakta Hanuman Temple at Ramboda, associated with Lord Hanuman’s search for Goddess Sita.
Arrive in Nuwara Eliya, known as “Little England,” famous for its tea plantations, misty hills, and colonial-era architecture.
Dinner and overnight stay in Nuwara Eliya.
Begin the day with a visit to Sita Amman Temple, the only temple in Sri Lanka dedicated to Goddess Sita, located at the site where she was held captive according to the Ramayana.
Explore Ashoka Vatika, now part of the Hakgala Botanical Gardens, followed by a visit to Divurumpola, where Sita is believed to have undergone the Agni Pariksha (trial by fire).
En route, visit the Ravana Waterfalls and Ravana Caves in Ella.
Proceed to Kataragama for dinner and an overnight stay.
In the morning, visit Kataragama Temple, dedicated to Lord Skanda and revered by both Hindus and Buddhists.
Explore Ussangoda, believed to be the landing site of Lord Rama’s flying chariot, the Pushpak Vimana.
Continue to Rumassala Hill in Galle and visit the UNESCO-listed Galle Dutch Fort.
Transfer to Colombo for dinner and an overnight stay.
On the final day of your Sri Lanka tour, visit the Panchamuga Anjaneyar Temple, the first temple in Sri Lanka dedicated to Lord Hanuman in his five-faced form.
Explore the Kelaniya Vibhishana Temple, associated with King Vibhishana.
